Lake Baikal will be Patroled

Beginning from January 2020, the state inspectors of the Zapovednoye Pribaikalye FSBI will begin to patrol the water area of the Maloye More Strait of Lake Baikal in the territory of the Pribaikalsky National Park for the sake of safety of tourists and local residents: in this place the access to ice outside the crossing is prohibited.

      People will be allowed to travel on ice, if they have a permission to visit the national park: on foot, on skates and dog sleds, on Hivus hovercrafts and Trekol emergency rescue vehicles. Meanwhile, the violators of the regime of visiting the national park will be held be held administratively liable by the inspectors of Zapovednoye Pribaikalye. The fine for staying in a specially protected natural area without permission ranges from 3 to 4 thousand roubles.

      Pribaikalsky National Park was created in 1986 on the area of 417.3 thousand ha, which was increased up to 540 thousand ha in the process of its development. The whole national park is included into the Central Ecological Zone of Baikal.
