A resort complex will be created near the Domodedovo Airport.

      Domodedovo Airport will provide the lease of land for the construction of a year-round resort complex titled “Tropichesky Ostrov” (“Tropical Island”). The total building area will make up 50 hectares. It is planned to place beaches, a water park, a rainforest, a cinema, a planetarium, a fitness centre, a skating rink on that area.

      The resort will be designed for 4.5 million visitors per year.

      “Thanks to the support of the Moscow regional government, we will be able to fully implement the economic potential of the Moscow aerotropolis project. Domodedovo Airport is becoming a zone of attraction for major development initiatives in the fields of trade, tourism and hospitality”, according to the Director of Domodedovo.

      “Domodedovo Aerotropolis” is a new urban entity based on the commercial development of the land within a radius of 20 km around the airport.
