Scientists of the Siberian State Aerospace University have developed a technology for growing Siberian cedar so that it matures 20 to 30 years earlier.

      In nature, the Siberian cedar starts yielding fruit about 60 years after planting.

      The method will restore the cedar forests that were destroyed by poaching and Siberian silkworms in the past.

      Scientists explained that the technology consists in selecting the Siberian cedar specimens, which can bear large cones in a shorter time. Afterwards they are used as grafts for growing planting material.
