Scientists are going to start synthesis of elements 119 and 120 in 2019, the head of Flerov Nuclear Reactions Laboratory, Sergey Dmitriyev reported at the 20th Mendeleyev Congress in Yekaterinburg.

      The Mendeleyev Congress is considered the largest scientific forum on the subject of general and applied chemistry, and is held once in 5 years. It first time took place in Russia in 1907.

      The Congress runs in Yekaterinburg from September 26 till September 30. More than 2 thousand people, including 200 foreign scientists, are participating in it. The scientists are considering the possibilities of creating effective molecular systems, machines and special devices of varying complexity, and discussing the latest technologies, chemical aspects in alternative power engineering and matters of teaching chemistry at schools.
