Dendrological Park "Southern Cultures" of the Adler region of Sochi, founded in 1910 by General Drachevsky according to the project of A.E. Regel, is located on the left bank of the river Mzymta. Regel took part in the construction of the park in absentia, and his ideas were embodied by the gardener Skrivanik. This is a private park on the lands of the "Sluchaynoye" estate, during the creation of which the landscape style characteristic of the end of the 19th century was applied. An extensive parterre with regular elements was set up not directly near the house, but in the depths of the park, which was its distinctive feature.

The composition consisted of numerous paths and paths that diverged from the central straight road, originating from the courtyard area and the central entrance. This road leads to a staircase and descends to the lower part of the park. The main pond and parterre are located there.

Ticket Prices

The entrance to the territory is paid. The total cost is 300 rubles. Children under 7 years old can visit the attraction for free. The entrance ticket for children from 7 to 14 years old will cost 120 rubles. Also, privileged categories of citizens can visit the garden for free: large families, disabled people of groups 1 and 2 and accompanying persons, liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, participants in hostilities and the Second World War, awarded the sign "Resident of blockade Leningrad".

Hotels

There are many hotels, apartments, guest houses, mini-hotels, where you can spend the night upon arrival in Adler. This is one of the most popular areas among tourists, located near the center and practically by the sea.

Plants

"Southern Cultures" is a multi-level park with numerous staircases and observation platforms, elegant bridges with beautiful views. There are shady places in the garden, so it won't be hot here even on the hottest day - a great place to relax from the bustle of the city.

The following plant species grow in the park:   Mexican fir, cedar, magnolia, pine, rhododendron, cypress, camphor and noble laurel, sycamore, camellia, bamboo, pampas grass, palm, solar cypress, cryptomeria, maple, Lawson's cypress. In total, there are more than 5.5 thousand species.

Several alleys located in the park are distinguished by plantings: eucalyptus, tulip trees, fir, Himalayan cedar, fan palm. Decorative ponds with bridges and islets complement the landscape design, creating coziness and peace. One of the ponds is formed by the widening of the stream bed that flows through the area. Green lawn, trimmed shrubs provide the territory with a complete and well-groomed look.

You will find here an Eucalyptus alley, ponds with colorful carp, turtles, swans, ducks, bamboo forest, giant unique trees, 300-year-old oak tree, various palms, laurels, scarlet trees, magnolias, laurels, cherries, sakura, forsythia, almonds intersect with green meadows and ponds , blending harmoniously with the overall style.

Huge roses of different varieties and colors, flowering shrubs and trees exude a pleasant aroma, and eucalyptus groves have healing properties: they increase the body's defenses, have an antibiotic, anti-infectious effect.

Territory

Police officers patrol the area and ensure the safety of visitors, and their number is not very large, so here you can feel yourself secluded with nature. The corner of paradise is suitable for visiting with children. In order to enjoy all the beauty of the arboretum, you need to spend at least 3-4 hours there. The territory has asphalt, pebble and tiled paths. Cycling is prohibited here. There are no shops, kiosks or stalls. There are also no entertainment areas.

Photographers arrange photo shootings in the arboretum, the shots are bright and green, the area is practically deserted, and views of colorful landscapes open from the multi-tiered platforms. In the evening, you can admire flocks of fireflies, which create a spectacular view by emitting light in the dark.
