Enjoy a full-day private tour departing from Moscow to the Golden Ring. You will visit sights including famous Abramtsevo estate, 19th century retreat for Russian writers and painters, the famous Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius Monastery, Chernigov Skit (monks retreat), Museum of Villagers everyday life and Matryoshka painting or candles making masterclass, and learn about Russian history, culture and the architecture styles of Orthodox churches.

There are some cities in the Central Russia; they call it The Golden Ring. They are Old Russian cities with the medieval churches, fortresses, museums and traditional crafts. Some of them live because of the travel industry only (like Suzdal); others have something more serious, like Yaroslavl, the large industrial city. All of them are worth to visit and to ask a question: what’s the matter? Some of them are prosperous region centers or wealthy cities, but others look not very good, even their tourist objects.

The route would be appropriate for everyone interested in the ancient Slavic history and would like to combine excursions, sanatorium facilities and passive leisure.

The Golden Ring is a modern name for a loop of very old towns north-east of Moscow. The towns’ churches, monasteries, kremlins (city forts) and museums make an incredibly picturesque portfolio of early Russian craftwork. Another attraction of the region is that some of the towns are really little more than villages, providing a peaceful glimpse of country life as it is all over European Russia.

The Golden Ring is one of the most popular routes among the tourists who want to explore the heart of Russia. The major point of the tour is to present the most ancient and magnificent Russian towns in all there glamour and beauty.

The towns that form the Golden ring are Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zaleski, Rostov the Great, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ples, Vladimir, Bogolyubovo, Susdal, Yuriev-Polski , Uglich, - the range crowned by Moscow, – an excellent point to start or to finish any journey. The Golden Ring goes right through the regions, famous for their history, priceless cultural heritage, golden-domed churches and bright masterpieces of folk art, so any visitor will find plenty of exploration to be done and beautiful towns to visit. Among these regions there are Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Vladimir Region and, of course, Moscow Region.

The headquarters of the “Golden Ring” tourist route is going to distribute its calendar of events in all the towns and cities of the route. The calendar will give people an opportunity to plan the holidays in advance.  The calendar of the events of the Golden Ring of Russia can tell the tourists about all the major events, including the Great Rostov fish broth, the Day of Tsarevich Dimitrii, The Day of Gingerbread, the Tsar’s brine, the Cucumber Festival, The Festival of Jewelry Art, the “Technotravel Festival”, the “Feast on Volga” Picnic and the Festival of Fireworks.
