Ancient, diverse and very interesting cities of the Moscow region surround the capital with a dense ring of sights, natural beauties and cultural values. Weekend tours in the Moscow region are a great opportunity to escape the routine, breath the fresh air of the region and learn more about its history. The price for tours in Moscow region is   affordable - the cost per person often equals the price of a theater ticket. Professional guides, beautiful views, delicious food, unusual souvenirs and memorable photos will make the trip interesting and joyful. Among other things, children can also go on a tour  - the road is not long, and lots of new impressions will not let the child get bored. Finally, there are many recreation centers in the Moscow region.

Day trips

Day trips in the Moscow region are good for those who cannot dedicate two days for travelling. Such excursions begin, as a rule, on Saturday morning and end by the evening of the same day. It is possible to travel by  bus or train.

You can visit one of the architectural and historical ensembles in such cities as Kolomna, Zvenigorod, Mozhaisk (here is the famous Borodino), Pavlovsky Posad, Klin and many others  or explore the magnificent   manor museums: Marfino, Shakhmatovo, Abramtsevo, Arkhangelskoe, Melikhovo...

Cities of the Golden Ring deserve special attention, although formally, many of them do not belong to the Moscow region. And if you are ready to devote two full days off to excursions, the choice of destinations will expand greatly.

Children should definitely take part in the weekend tours in the Moscow region - in the assortment of travel agencies you can find a considerable number of tours targeted at the little travelers. For example, a trip to Likino-Dulyovo, where they can get acquainted with traditional porcelain Russian toys, or a visit to the real Kudykina Mountain (which is usually mentioned in Russian fairy tales),  an excursion to Kolomna with tasting its most delicious pastes,   or Kasimov, where they can try blacksmithing under the strict guidance of a professional blacksmith.

Recreation centres

However, weekend tours in the Moscow region are not only excursion trips. If after busy  week you need some relaxation,  just  go to one of the resorts near Moscow. Many recreation centres now follow the standards of  European spa centers offering spa treatments and detox programs. And the healing air of the Moscow region will help you to relax.
