Victory Park (Russian: Park Pobedy)
This park is situated closer to the city centre - in Moskovsky city district.
Victory Park was founded in 1945 and is a historical monument: its territory contains a memorial complex dedicated to the victims of the war, as well as a chapel.
The numerous ponds of the park are distinguished by their fancy shapes and also tell about the hard times for the country - all the pits of the ponds were formerly funnels from exploding shells.
- Activities that are available in the Victory Park include:
- Having a picnic on the grass.
- Playing badminton or throwing frisbee.
- Renting a rowing boat and going along the ponds.
- Visiting the attractions - the Ferris wheel, all kinds of slides, swings and “cups”.
- Skating on an ice rink for free in winter.
- Doing yoga on the grass for free in summer.
Nowadays nothing in the park reminds of the former ruined state of this territory: the ponds have been improved, the lawns have been trimmed, neat alleys and tall trees perfectly contribute to calm and peaceful recreation of citizens and tourists.
