On the bank of the Khimki reservoir there is a wonderful place for a good rest - the park of the Northern River Station with an area of 50 hectares. It was opened in 1937 and built in the strongly pronounced style of that era.
From the first minute of the visit, the park is fascinating, beckoning to its depth by endless straight avenues. Tall slender trees on both sides close up somewhere at the top, creating a shadow that will save during the summer heat. It creates an amazing impression that the rays of the sun do not pass into this realm of balance and peace. In such an environment it is very pleasant to sit down on one of the many benches and listen to the trills of birds.

At the entrance to the park, each guest is greeted by a snow-white sculpture of a girl holding a model of a yacht above her head on outstretched hands. This sculpture is called “Waterway”. It reminds of the Atlantean tribe. And it seems that the young atlantic was lifted from the depths of the river by swirling stormy waves, and will now hide in tons of water almost falling on the ground.
Going deeper into the park, you can reach the pretty embankment, full of interesting smaller sculptures. Everything in this park is made in the river style. Even on the playgrounds, where kids play all day long, there are not ordinary slides and swings, but decorated in the form of all kinds of boats.

The administration of the park of the Northern River Station at all times tried to keep the atmosphere that prevailed here in the 30s. The park is very well maintained, regularly and carefully cleaned. Despite the solid age of the local green area, there are no dry or fallen trees, no faded grass, the bushes are neatly trimmed. The atmosphere is pleasing to the eye and perfect for family rest. The paths are well asphalted. There are many flower beds everywhere.
There are also modern attributes of rest. These are small cafes and barbeques, and everything necessary for people with disabilities. Having enjoyed a walk in the park, you can rent a boat. Young scooters and cyclists gather in wide avenues of the park. In winter, these spaces turn into a fabulous large ice rink.
