Address: Moscow, Academician Vinogradov Str., 12
Metro station: Konkovo, Tyoply Stan

Troparyovsky Park is one of the most comfortable and beautiful places in the south-west of Moscow. It is located next to Ostrovityanova Street and is divided into two parts by Leninsky Avenue. The park was founded in the 60s of the last century and was originally named in the honor of the XXII Congress of the CPSU. Later it was renamed to Troparyovsky on behalf of the neighboring district. Locals usually call this place simply a “recreation area.”

Flora and Fauna

The park was created on the basis of the forest, which in those years continued to the ring road and further to the Moscow region. In the early years of the recreation area, it was possible to meet there not only squirrels or hares, but even elks. Now the Troparyovo Park is surrounded by residential areas and there are no large animals  there. Currently, squirrels, moles and  hares live here.

In addition, there are many different birds.  In 2002, the park was recognized as a specially protected natural area and transformed into a landscape reserve "Tyoply Stan".  All trees are monitored, old and sick ones are removed in time, the planned planting is carried out. The forest in the reserve is mixed, there are birch and pine groves. A special “bird town” has been created not far from the central square. In addition, special enclosures were made where decorative birds are kept. All visitors, and especially children, love to come to this "bird zoo" and watch the life of birds.

Territory

Every year the park becomes more beautiful, well-groomed and comfortable for visitors. All paths are asphalted, there are many benches and gazebos for rest, beautiful bridges across water reservoirs and modern playgrounds were built. It is evident that there is constant control over the cleanliness of the territory.

Summer Time

There is a small river in the park. In 1975, a dam was built there and a rather large pond was formed, which immediately became the center of the park and a favorite resting place for residents of neighboring areas. In the summer its shores turn into a crowded beach.

Many wild ducks have chosen this reservoir for raising their offspring. In spring, one can often see numerous families with small ducks there.  All year round fishing enthusiasts come to the pond to fish. In the warmer months, you can rent a pedalo or boat. A walk on the lake will bring great pleasure to   children and adults. Trees, reflected in the water, create an unusually beautiful sight.

Nearby is the Kholodny spring, above which the consecrated chapel of St. Sergius of Radonezh was built. Many Muscovites who live nearby come here to take water, considering it to be healing.

There is a paintball club with its own fenced territory.   In addition, in Troparyovo there are specially designated places for playing beach volleyball.

In 1997, a large summer stage was built in the park, where various events are held. Usually, the city’s day is widely celebrated in the park, as well is Maslenitsa and other national holidays.

Winter Time

In winter, people come here for a walk or go skiing and skating. Snow-covered trees and clean frosty air - what else is needed for happiness?
