Grand Prix of Russia "Formula 1" in 2020 will be held in Sochi on September 27.
Russia's Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held in Sochi on September 27 in 2020, the press service of ANO ROSGONKI announced.
Formula 1 has published a preliminary calendar of the 71st World Cup. In accordance with it, the seventh Grand Prix in the history of Russia will be held on September 27, 2020. One week before the Russian stage, a race is planned in Singapore, and two weeks after it in Japan.
It is noted that the 2020 season will be the most eventful in the history of Formula 1 - 22 stages are included in the schedule. The World Cup starts with the Australian Grand Prix on March 15, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ends on November 29.
The Vietnam Grand Prix will be held for the first time on April 5 in Hanoi - this country will be the 34th in a row to host the Formula 1 race. The Dutch Grand Prix, which was held for the last time in 1985, returned to the calendar. The race on the track in Zandvoort will open the European part of the season on May 3. Also, the Mexican Grand Prix has now been renamed the Mexico Grand Prix, and the German Grand Prix has left the calendar.
October 4, the draft schedule for the season 2020 will be submitted for approval by the FIA World Motor Racing Council.
In 2019, the Russian Grand Prix will be held from September 26 to 29. In addition to Formula 1, it will include the stages of the youth series Formula 2 and Formula 3. An extensive entertainment program is planned for the fans: concerts of the Leningrad and Mumiy Troll bands, an air show performed by Russian Knights, the Drive and Motors Festival, and pilots autograph sessions.
Russia received the right to host the World Cup on October 14, 2010. The agreement with the Formula 1 group of companies provides for the stages of the Russian Grand Prix races annually from 2014 to 2025.
