Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Sergey Bobrovsky makes a wonderful save to prove his authority in the team.
Coach Todd Richards is not shy in saying that Sergei Bobrovsky “Bob” is the backbone of the Blue Jackets.
Bobrovsky was recently ranked No. 5 among goalies in the NHL Fantasy Top 275
In two years with the Blue Jackets, Bobrovsky has posted elite numbers: 53-31-11 with nine shutouts (the first nine of his NHL career), a 2.19 goals-against average and - the most indicative goaltending stat - a .927 save percentage.
In 2013, he won the prestigious Vezina Trophy. Bobrovsky was ranked No. 5 among goalies in the NHL Fantasy Top 275, a list that features nine total Blue Jackets players.
Evgeni Malkin restored Pittsburgh's three-goal lead with his first of the season, a power-play goal at 13:46
His side went on to win 5-2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre on Saturday.
Artem Anisimov scored his second goal of the season early in the first to give the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead.
The play developed in the left corner where Dano muscled the puck away from two Rangers. Hartnell picked it up and sent a pass out to Anisimov beyond the left circle for a one-timer that blew past the left glove of backup goaltender Cam Talbot.
Also, former Rangers defenseman Fedor Tyutin was plus-5 to set a Blue Jackets record.
