The 90th anniversary since the shooting of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas the Second’s family was commemorated with religious processions in Yekaterinburg, the city where the tragedy had happened on 17th July 1918.
The investigation committee marked this day in its own way – on 16th July they reported that the genetic expertise confirmed: the remains found in 2007 under Yekaterinburg really belonged to the members of the royal family, namely to Princess Maria and Cesarevitch Alexei.
On the same day the results of the expertise were questioned by representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, whereas descendants of the Romanovs family trusted the expertise.
This time the experts have decided to resort to what they think an irrefutable proof, in particular the shirt with remaining stains of blood of Nicholas the Second.
To prove the authenticity of the remains of Nicholas the experts will have to cut out a piece of the fabric from the unique shirt and powder it. Then the matter will be subject to analyses with DNA to be checked first of all.
However the Hermitage is not ready to sacrifice the shirt which is an exhibit of great value.
