    Nyagan

Nyagan is a Russian city in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. The railway station of Nyagan is located on the railway line Ivdel — Priobye of the Sverdlovsk railroad. Highway connects Nyagan with Khanty-Mansiysk in the southern direction and the settlement of Priobye in the northern one.

Major oil and gas extraction enterprises are located in the city, such as the oil refinery RN-Nyaganneftegaz JSC, Nyagangazpererabotka, Krasnoleninskneftegazgeologiya. Besdies, there is a municipal timber industry enterprise in Nyagan.

Presently the city airport of Nyagan has regular air traffic with the cities of Moscow (Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports), Tyumen, Beloyarsk, Igrim, and Beryozovo.

Maria Sharapova, the Russian top seed tennis-player and the World No. 1 in tennis since August 22, 2005, was born in Nyagan.

Darya Domracheva — the Belarusian biathlonist, the two-time world champion (2012 and 2013) and the three-time Olympic champion of 2014, lived in the city from 1990 to 2003.
