Atyashevo is an urban township, the administrative center of the Atyashevo District of Mordovia.

It is a railway station on the line Romodanovo — Kanash.

Its population makes 6119 people (as of 2014). It is located 80 km away from Saransk and is connected to it by the highway Saransk — Ardatov and the railway station of the Gorky railroad.

It was founded due to construction of the Moscow and Kazan railroad, a part of which was laid near the village of Atyashev (hence its name) in 1894.
