Museum House of V. M. Vasnetsov

The house with an art studio where Viktor Milkhailovich Vasnetsov (18481926) lived with his family in 1894-1926, was built in 1893-1894, based on the design and sketches made by the artist himself. This project is a brilliant paragon of neo-Russian style.

The house of Vasnetsov was open as a museum in 1953. Nowadays it keeps 25 thousand exhibits which tell about the biography and creation of the famous Russian artist. The museum gives an opportunity to fully estimate the versatile creation of Viktor Vasnetsov, who aimed at a single style comprising various arts and based on ancient national and folk traditions.

The museum conveys a peculiar atmosphere of the unique house created by the artist for himself and his family.
