Korenovsk is a Russian town, the administrative center of the Korenovsk District of the Krasnodar Krai.
The town of Korenovsk with the area of 254 sq km has the population of 41.6 thousand people (as of 2008).
Korenovsk is located in the Kubano-Priazovsky Lowland, where it stands on River Beysuzhek Levy (inflow of the Beysug River), 64 km to the northeast of Krasnodar.
It has a railway station and a highway junction.
History of Korenovsk
It was founded in 1794 as the Korenovsky kuren (an administrative-military unit in the Zaporozhian Cossack Army). The name came from the Zaporozhian Host, where it was derived from the nickname Koren’ (translated as ‘root’).
In 1842 it became a Cossack village, and at the end of the 19th century it became Korenovsky Settlement of the Kuban Region. It has been the town of Korenovsk since July 1961.

In Korenovsk there is a milk canning plant, a sugar refinery, a brewery, a dry milk whey plant, a poultry factory and an elevator.
In the Korenovsk District there are plantations of grains and vegetables, as well as cattle and poultry farming.
