Architecture and sights
The eastern part of the town harbours constructions of the Kasimov Kingdom epoch: the mosque (the main building of the 18th century was based on a mosque of the 15th century) with a minaret (1740), mausoleums - white stone Shah-Ali khan (1505) with a minaret and brick Avgan - Mohammed sultan (1647).
In the eastern suburb there is also the Epiphany Church (1700).
In the central squares there is St. Nicholas Church (1703-05), Blagoveshchensk Church (1740), Assumption Church (1753), and Trinity Church (1756-64).
The settlement of Gus-Zhelezny with the architectural complex of the late 18th – early 19th centuries is located 18 km to the northwest of Kasimov.
