Bashmakovo is an urban township in the Penza Region of Russia, the administrative centre of the Bashmakovo District. It has the railway station of Bashmakovo on the line Penza Ryazhsk.

The township is located 169 km to the west of Penza and at the 541 km distance from Moscow. It stands on River Shirka, the right influx of the Poim River.

Architecture monuments: a set of railway buildings (a station, an elevator, and a water tower) and Archangel Michael Church (1895) in the central square of the former village of Kolesovka, the northern suburb of the township.

3 archaeological monuments of burial grounds of 2-1 millennium BC in the outskirts of Bashmakovo: 1) 2 barrows on an elevation between three ravines located 1.5 km to the east of the township; 2) 2 barrows 4 km to the north of the township; 3) 2 barrows at the 2 km distance from Bashmakovo.

A monument to the military valor of fellow countrymen during the Great Patriotic War.
