Likhoslavl is a Russian town in the Tver Region. It is located in the outskirts of the Likhoslavsky Ridge, 41 km to the northwest of Tver. It is a railroad junction.
The town with the population of 12 078 people (as of 2014) takes the area of 16 sq km.
History of Likhoslavl
The town grew up from the village of Ostashkovo (known from 1624) and the small settlement of Likhoslavl.
The station of the Nikolaev railroad was constructed in Ostashkovo Village in 1849. In 1870 the railroad line Likhoslavl - Torzhok was opened, and a settlement was developed at the station.
In 1925 Likhoslavl got the status of a town. In 1937-39 it was the center of the Karelian national district.
