Gorodovikovsk (Bashanta) is a Russian town (since 1971), the administrative center of Gorodovikovsk Region of Kalmykia Republic.
It has the population of 9139 people (as of 2013).
The town is located in the extreme west of Kalmykia, 234 km to the west of the Elista city, 54 km to the southeast of the nearest town of Salsk (the Rostov Region), 95 km to the northwest of the Ipatovo town (Stavropol Territory), and 125 km to the north of Stavropol, on the gentle slopes of the northwest suburb of Stavropol Plateau, in the valley of River Bashant. The town is an important transport hub.
