Novoulyanovsk is a Russian town in the Ulyanovsk Region. It is located in the Middle Volga area, on the right bank of Volga (Kuibyshevsky Water Reservoir), 19 km to the South of Ulyanovsk. It stands 7 km away from the Bely Klyuch railway station.
Novoulyanovsk takes the area of 254 sq km and has the population of 15 104 people (as of 2014).
History of Novoulyanovsk
It was founded as a settlement in connection with construction of the Ulyanovsk cement works, one of the largest ones in the European part of Russia, in 1960.
In 1961 it became an industrial township and was named Novoulyanovsk. It has been a town since 1967. In 1978 the Kremenki Village was merged into Novoulyanovsk.
