ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM OF WOODEN ARCHITECTURE TALTZY

47 km of the Baikal tract from Irkutsk to the lake Baikal

This old Siberian village represents the dwellings, elements of everyday life, customs, traditions and religious cults of Russians, Buryats and Evenky (native people of the region). The oldest wooden building in the area is Kazanskaya Church dated 1679. The astounding monuments of unique wooden architecture of the 17-19th centuries perfectly fit in with the picturesque landscapes of the surrounding area. This place is nowadays sometimes used for holding festivals and holidays in a pure Siberian style.
