Selenginsk is an urban township in the Kabansky District of Buryatia Republic in the Russian Federation.
Selenginsk is located on the left bank of River Selenga, at the northern foot of the Hamar-Daban Ridge.
It has the railway station Selenga on the Trans-Siberian Railway (at the 5563 km distance from Moscow — 4 days by express train). Along the railroad there runs the federal highway Baikal P258 that connects it to Irkutsk (359 km distance), Ulan-Ude (89 km) and Chita (773 km).
