V. Yudashkin is a People's Artist of Russia, Honored Artist of the RF, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Academy of Social Sciences, a corresponding member of the Paris Haute Couture and Ready-made Clothing Syndicate, honorary citizen of Los Angeles (USA).

He was born in the Bakovka village of Odintsovo district of Moscow oblast on October 14, 1963. His mother is Yudashkina Raisa Petrovna (born in 1945). His wife is Yudashkina Marina Vladimirovna (born in 1958). And his daughter is Galina (born in 1990). In his childhood Valentin liked to draw, made up models of clothes for himself and his friends. After secondary school he enrolled into Moscow Industrial College to the Department of Clothes Design (specialties “History of the Costume” and “Make-up and Decorative Cosmetics”). He did his pre-diploma practice at the Moscow Fashion House of Vyacheslav Zaitsev. In 1986 he graduated from the college with honors and was sent to work as a senior artist to the Central Design and Construction Office of the Ministry of Consumer Services of the RSFSR. 
 

In 1987 he created his first collection – “Original Russia” including more than 150 models of dresses. In 1988 he established his own firm “Vali–Moda” (“Vali–Fashion”). In the same year he made the collection “Peter`s Ball”. In 1991 he presented the collection “Faberge” at the High Fashion Week in Paris. After the show he became widely known not only in Russia, but also around the world. One item of the collection – a dress resembling a Faberge egg - was transferred to the Louvre.

Yudashkin became the first Russian designer admitted to the Haute Couture Syndicate in Paris. From 1991 to 2000 his Fashion House “Valentin Yudashkin” annually participated in Weeks of High Fashion in Paris and Moscow. 

In 1993 he designed a uniform for “Aeroflot”. In 1994 he created a uniform for the Russian team for Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. In 1996 he made a uniform for the Russian Olympic team for Summer Olympics in Atlanta. In 1997 he opened his first boutique in Moscow, which presented a prêt-a-porter luxury clothing, and after a few years also accessories, jewelry and sunglasses.

In 2001 Yudashkin presented a collection of sunglasses. He began to produce porcelain and silverware. Beginning from 2001 he holds an annual “Yudashkin Show” dedicated to the holiday of March, 8.

He created and presented to the public the following collections: “Music” (1992), “Still Life Painting” (1993), “Frescoes” (1994), “Ballet” (1995), “Birds of Paradise " (1996) , “Christmas Dream” (1996), “Wrobel” (1997), “Silent Movie” (1997), “Black and White Movie” (1997) “Russian Art Nouveau” (1998), “Anna Karenina” ( 1998), “End of the Century” (1999), “Show Me the Love” (1999), “The Impressionists” (2000) , “Byzantium” (2000),”2000 and One Night”  (2001), “The Birds” (2001), “Japan” (2002), “Corsets” (2002) , “A Journey from Moscow to St. Petersburg” (2003) , “India” (2004), “The Actresses of 1940s” (2004),”Julius” (2005), “Sun King” (2005) , “Cabaret” (2006), “Black and White” (2006) and others.

In 2001 he was a member of the Board for Culture and Arts under the President of the RF.

In 2002 Valentin graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts with the specialty in “Theatre Studies” and studied theatrical costumes. In 2003 he published a book devoted to the fifteenth anniversary of his creative work. The presentation took place at the International Book Fair in Frankfurt. In 2003 he organized his solo exhibition which included more than 200 haute couture and prêt-a-porter costumes created in different years. The exhibition was held at the State Historical Museum in Moscow.
 

Yudashkin is the chief designer of his own clothing brand. He produces haute couture and prêt-a-porter clothing, accessories and jewelry. He has also created a Yudashkin Jeans brand – the brand of casual clothing. He made collections that were shown in Paris, New York and Milan.
 

Some models are kept at the California Museum of Fashion, at the International Olympic Museum in Switzerland and at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

In 2008 he designed a new uniform for the Ministry of Defense of the RF. He made costumes for Alla Pugacheva, Phillip Kirkorov, Oleg Gazmanov, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Natalia Vetlitskaya, Nadezhda Babkina, Laima Vajkule etc. He is an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts and a member of the Academy of Social Sciences.
 

In 2012 he became the Editor in Chief of the TV channel “Style and Fashion”.
