Yevgeny Tsyganov is one of the most popular Russian actors of "the new generation". Though it is not so long ago that he started his acting career, the talented Muscovite has already managed to win hearts of numerous admirers and prestigious film awards by now.
Yevgeny Tsyganov was born in Moscow into the family of research associates of the Moscow research institute Titan on March 15, 1979.
Yevgeny graduated from music school majoring in piano. For 4 years he worked in the Taganka Theatre, where he played various children's roles.
From 1993 to 1997 the young actor played in the rock band A.S. and then Yevgeny Tsyganov with his friends created another band, Grenki, which performed a lot in clubs, released one album and broke up in 2004, but reunited in 2009.
In 1996 Yevgeny Tsyganov entered the Schukin Theatre School.
In 1997 he entered the Director's Faculty of the Russian Theater Art Academy, which he graduated from in 2001 to join the troupe of the Moscow theater Pyotr Fomenko Studio.
In 2014 Yevgeny Tsyganov debuted as a stage director with the production Olympia after Olga Mukhina's play on the stage of Pyotr Fomenko Studio. He also played one of the roles and the film music.
Yevgeny Tsyganov debuted in cinema with Yury Grymov's movie The Collector in 2001.
The debut was a success and soon the actor came to appear in various Russian film projects. Thus, during the period from 2002 to 2009 he acted in fourteen new film, including the popular Children of Arbat, The Presentiment of Space, St. Petersburg FM, Red Pearls of Love, Dots, Lilac Branch, and others.
In 2001 Yevgeny Tsyganov took prize For the Best Supporting Role in the film Let’s Make Love at the prestigious Kinotavr Film Festival. The Mermaid (2007) starring him in one of the leads was nominated for Oscar in the nomination The Best Foreign Language Movie.
