Igor Ivanovich Sukachev, more well-known as Garik Sukachev, was born on December 1, 1959 in Myakinino Village of the Moscow Region. He graduated from a railway technical school and participated in design of the Tushino railway station. In 1987 he graduated from Lipetsk Regional Culture and Education College as a stage director.
During his studies Garik Sukachev got acquainted with the rock musician Sergei Galanin. They both first performed in different bands, and then started joint rehearsals, resulting in foundation of the Brigada S rock band in 1986. Garik Sukachev became popular on January 14, 1986, after the first underground rock festival Rock Fir-Tree. The band’s first program was titled Tangerine Paradise, and the second one - Welcome to No-Go Zone – was already quite professional, with the songs Plumber on the Roof and My Little Baby becoming hits.
From 1987 the band under the aegis of the Stas Namin Center played at various festivals, recorded a lot and by 1988 found itself among the leaders of Moscow rock music stage. At the same time Brigada S was featured in Savva Kulish's film Tragedy in Rock Style set to music by Sergey Kuryokhin. The same year Garik Sukachev appeared in the films Defender Sedov and The Step.
After a few released albums a conflict occurred among Sukachev and other band members, and soon Sukachev formed a new line-up of Brigada S, which participated in the tour Rock at its Finest and visited the USA.
After reconciliation of Galanin and Sukachev the reformed band repeated its tour along the Volga River and went on performing and recording. However, when Galanin quit Brigada S in spring 1994, the band practically ceased to exist.
Garik Sukachev, having invited a number of well-known Petersburg and Moscow musicians, founded the Neprikasayemye (The Untouchable) band. They periodically performed in Moscow, appeared on television, and recorded a few albums. Besides, Sukachev was featured in a number of films, and in 1997 showed himself as the director of the film Middle Age Crisis. The year 1999 saw the publication of Garik Sukachev's book King of the Avenue.
