Sasha Pivovarova is a famous Russian model whose photos decorate the covers of the most respected glossy magazines. Pivovarova, alongside with the Australian model Gemma Ward, belongs to the so-called "alien models" who have somewhat unusual faces with big eyes, full lips and high cheekbones.

Sasha Pivovarova was born in Moscow on the 21st of January, 1985. Since childhood she has dreamed only of drawing, and this dream was strongly supported by her parents. Together with her mother, Sasha visited all the museums and exhibitions in the Russian capital, and after school she entered the Russian State University for the Humanities, majoring in the history of arts. It was the place where she met the photographer Igor Vishnyakov and married him.

Pivovarova had never dreamed of becoming a model until Igor Vishnyakov made a photo of her in 2005 and sent the pictures to the international modeling agency IMG, thus laying the foundation of her career. In 2005 Igor sent her photos to New York modeling agency IMG and already 2 weeks later Sasha was opening Prada show in Milan. This provided Pivovarova the place on the main catwalks of Europe, and now Sasha Pivovarova persents the collections of such top brands as Gucci, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Chloe, Valentino, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hermes, Kenzo, Victor & Rolf, Dolce & Gabanna, Balenciaga, Zac Pozen, Fendi and Yohji Yamamoto.

Although Alexandra had to leave the university, she continues to draw. The model travels a lot, visits the best museums of the world and artist ateliers. She draws everywhere: on paper, napkins, notebooks and small pieces of paper using any possible stuff: pencil, charcoal, even coffee or wine.

Alexandra looks after herself very thoroughly - eats only vegetarian food, drinks only Chinese green tea and does not accept any alcoholic drinks. Sasha claims that her beauty secret lays in the complete abstinence from alcohol and rational use of cosmetics. According to Sasha Pivovarova, only natural look can reveal the true essence of human nature to other people. In 2011 she created a fashion line of pajamas for the GAP company using the prints of her own design.

The time when Alexandra showed her works only to her friends and family has gone: during one of the Matthew Williamson fashion shows the top model presented her self-portrait to the public.  Vogue magazine awarded Sasha with the fifth place in the list of the top supermodels of the world. Right now as well as the next year Sasha can be seen in the advertising campaign of Prada.
