Russian artist and actor

      

Vladislav Yuryevich Mamyshev-Monroe was born in Leningrad. The artist began to participate in performances and disguise himself in known people in the late 1980s. Among his first characters there was the American actress Marilyn Monroe, whose surname became a part of his stage name. He participated in numerous art projects, telecasts, cooperated with a number of specialized editions, and acted in cinema and on theater stage.

Works by Monroe as an artist are kept in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow House of Photography and in several private collections. 
One of his last roles was that of Polonium in the same-name performance, which took place at the end of 2012 in Moscow Politheatre.
In 2007 Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe became the winner of the Kandinsky Award in the Media Project of the Year nomination.
On March 16, 2013 the artist drowned in a pool on the island of Bali, Indonesia.
