The poet, original multi-instrumentalist and bard Viktor Luferov is one of the most illustrious contemporary representatives of the author’s song genre. Along with his creative achievements one should point out the establishment of the unique studio-theatre of song “Perekryostok” (The Crossroads) which existed from 1983 to 2003 and introduced a number of talented songwriters to the Moscow audience.

Viktor Arkhipovich Luferov was born on May 20, 1945 in Moscow. For seven years he studied at a music school majoring in playing the piano. Later he studied at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, graduated from the Biological faculty of Moscow Skryabin Veterinary Academy (1971) and the Gnesins State Teachers’ Training College majoring in guitar (1978).

Viktor Luferov Viktor worked as a laboratory assistant at the institute, a bill-sticker, a yard-keeper, and even a fireman. He has been writing songs since 1966, mainly to his own lyrics. He accompanies himself playing the six-stringed guitar.

From 1967 to 1970 Viktor Luferov was the founder and leader of the ensemble Osenebri, and from 1978 to 1981 the bard collaborated with Elena Kamburova. In 1985 he founded the studio-theatre of song “Perekryostok” (The Crossroads), where, along with the author’s song, Viktor was into ethnographic folklore and developed the structure of street theatre. He is a member of the creative association Pervyi Krug (The First Circle) and the Association of Russian Bards.

Viktor Luferov is also known for his one-actor stage play “Parade of Instruments on a Red Coat”.
