Soviet and Russian stage and film actress, the honored actress of the RSFSR. Elder sister of the famous film actress Olga Aroseva.
Elena Aroseva was born in Moscow on June 9, 1923. Her father Alexander Arosev was one of the leaders of the Moscow revolutionary revolt in 1917 and a diplomat later on. He was repressed in 1937. Her mother Olga Goppen was of noble Polish origin and worked as an administrative assistant to Polina Zhemchuzhina, the wife of Vyacheslav Molotov. In Elena Aroseva's family there were actors as well as the Polish aristocrat and suppressor of the Polish revolt of 1863 — 1864 Mikhail Muravyyov, the first guild merchant.
During World War II Elena Aroseva took active part in the defense of attacked Moscow and timber work. The would-be actress was awarded the medal "For Defense of Moscow" and participated in the Victory Day Parade in the Red Square.
In 1945 Elena Aroseva graduated from the Moscow Municipal Drama College. Soon she became known as a comedy and a lyrical drama actress. Elena Aroseva played on stage of the Lenkom Theater in the city of Brest, the Russian Drama Theaters in Vilnius and Tallinn, the Baltic Fleet Theater of Leningrad, and the Petrozavodsk Drama Theater.
In 1957 Elena Aroseva became the actress of the Omsk Drama Theatre. There she met Boris Kashirin, who became her life-time stage partner and husband. Their son Alexander works as a doctor and lives in Moscow.
Over her long and fruitful life Elena Aroseva (the elder sister of the film and stage actress Olga Aroseva) earned boundless love, honor and recognition of visitors and employees of the Omsk Academic Drama Theater. Throughout her career, from 1957, the actress played on stage of this theater and gained the rank of "the legend of Omsk theater" years ago. Last time Elena Aroseva took the stage on June 9, 2013, which marked her 90th anniversary. It was an evening in her honour.
"The legend of Omsk theater" and the Honored Actress of RSFSR, Elena Aroseva died in Moscow on August 13. The famous actress was 94 years old. She was laid down to rest near her sister and parents in the Golovinsky Cemetery in Moscow.
