Victor Dmitriyevich Pivovarov was born in 1937 in Moscow. He got education at the Moscow Printing Institute, where he was majoring in graphic art. From 1970 he was engaged in painting and the conceptual album genre.

In 1951 — 1957 he got art education in the Moscow Kalinin Arts and Crafts College. Victor Pivovarov illustrated more than 50 books and cooperated with the Murzilka and Vesyolye Kartinki magazines for children.

In 1967 he created a monotype series under the title Temptation of Saint Anthony, which he considers to be the start of his creative career. The artist has been participating in exhibitions since 1977.  Since 1982 Victor Pivovarov has been living in Prague.
