Lyubov Grigoryevna Polischuk was born on May 21, 1949 into a simple working family in Omsk. At the age of 16 the girl went to Moscow to enter a theatre institute. Lyubov managed to enter the All-Russian Creative Studio for Variety Art. There she got acquainted with the student Valery Makarov, who became her husband. They graduated in 1967 and went to Omsk, where they worked in a philharmonic hall. In 1972 the couple gave birth to their son Alexey, but when he was four years old, the spouses parted. After a while Lyubov Polischuk was invited to a music hall in Moscow. There she played the leading role in the stage production Red Arrow. In 1977 the actress for the first time appeared on screen: she played a bit part side by side with the legendary Andrey Mironov in the movie 12 Chairs. She was noticed and started to be invited to act. In 1979 the actress started working in the Moscow Theater of Miniatures, where she played in the most popular performances. At the same time Lyubov met the artist Sergey Tsigal. They got married and in a year their daughter Masha was born. The marriage was satisfactory, cordial, and friendly.  In the 1980s Lyubov Polischuk was actively into filming.

During the period from 1989 to 1995 Polischuk worked in the School of the Modern Play Theater and at the same time performed in private Moscow theaters and non-repertory companies. In the 1990s Polischuk played a lot in films. The peak of her popularity fell on that period. Her magnificent plasticity, actress’ talent, brilliant humour, and wonderful vibes unmistakably evoked love of the audience.  In 1994 she became the People’s Artiste of Russia. During the period from 2004 to 2006 Lyubov Polischuk acted in the TV series My Great Nurse. At that time she was already suffering from a serious illness. On November 28, 2006 Lyubov Polischuk passed away.
