The futurism of Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky from the very beginning had a romantic tint.
Mayakovsky’s artistic world is a synthetic drama that includes traits of other genres, such as tragedy, mystery play, heroic epos, comedy, gallery, cinema, extravaganza, etc., all subjected to the tragic nature of his main character and the tragic structure of all his creativity. It is remarkable that not only his plays, but poems also are drama-like and tragic in most of the cases.
In the end of his life social alienation was aggravated by the poet’s personal drama. From some moment Mayakovsky was not allowed to go abroad, where he was to meet the woman (poem “Letter to Tatiana Yakovleva”, 1928), who he wanted to unite for life with. All those things led Mayakovsky to suicide, foretold in his tragedy Vladimir Mayakovsky.
