Alexander Kitayev was born in Leningrad in 1952. He worked as a photographer at a ship-building enterprise (1978-1999). He got his initial photography training in the VDK photoclub and at courses of press photographers in the House of Journalists. Since 1975 he has been engaged in intense exhibition activity – he is the author of 35 personal and a participant of over 70 group exhibitions in Russia and abroad. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia (1992) and the association "Fotopostscriptum" (1993). His works are kept in Russian and foreign state and private collections. Presently he works as a free-lance photographer.
