Soviet and Russian stage and film actor

      

Vladislav Borisovich Galkin was born on December 25, 1971, into the family of the actor and film director Boris Galkin. His parents did not wish actor’s life to their son. So, it was his grandmother who secretly took the 9-year-old boy to the shooting area and this is how Vladislav Galkin made his debut as Huckleberry Finn in Stanislav Govorukhin’s film Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1981). In 1992 he graduated from Shchukin Theatre School, where he studied under Albert Gurov; in 1999 he graduated from the director's faculty of the VGIK where Vladimir Khotinenko was his teacher. 
Altogether the actor played more than thirty roles; the most remarkable films with his works are This villain Sidorov", The Native, Voroshilovsky Shooter, In August 1944, Rostov Father, and the TV series Truckers, Kamenskaya, and Master and Margarita. In 2009 he became an Honored Actor of Russia. One of Vladislav Galkin’s latest works was the lead in the series Kotovsky (2010).
In the last years of his life Vladislav Galkin was actively engaged in filming, but misfortunes befell the actor one after another. Disagreement in family life was followed by divorce. A nervous breakdown, which led to a rowdy scene in a bar, affected a public agent and the actor ended up with 14 months of conditional sentence and a year and a half of probation period...
Vladislav Galkin was found dead in his apartment; according to doctors the death was caused by a heart failure and acute pancreatitis. The actor was laid down to rest at the Troyekurovskoe Cemetery in Moscow.
