Soviet and Russian stage and film actor


One of the best comedy actors of the Soviet and Russian cinema, Semyon Lvovich Farada was born on December 31, 1933 in Moscow, into the family of a serviceman. His real name was Ferdman, and he got his pseudonym Farada after participation in shootings in one of the studios of Central Asia. 

Semyon wanted to be in the track of his father and enter the Stalin Armour Academy, but was not admitted due to his biographical particulars. Then he applied to the N.I.Bauman MVTU and not without adventures entered the power machine-building faculty. He studied for three years there and actively participated in amateur performance, until he was called up for the navy, where he served for four years. Having invalided out, Semyon Farada graduated from MVTU in 1962 and worked as an engineer-fitter till 1969.
In 1970 Semyon Farada took the stage as an active member of the Moscow State University Variety Studio Theater Our House.  In 1972 he became an actor of the Moscow Drama Theater on Taganka; on this stage Semyon Farada played in thestage productions Master and Margarita, Exchange, A Kind Person from Szechwan, The Dawns Here Are Quiet..., etc. One of the best works by Farada is his role in the performance Five Stories by Babel
The actor started his cinema career in 1967 with a debut in the movie Vacation in the Stone Age. For over thirty years Semyon Farada acted in more than 70 movies, created a variety of memorable roles, mostly in comedy films. Among his works there are roles in the hits of Soviet cinema, such as The Very Same Munchhausen, Charodey, Adventures of Captain Vrungel, Formula of Love, The Garage, etc.
