Oleg Anofriyev's typical scenic or song character is a simple-minded, ordinary guy. Oleg Anofriyev calls him "My wise simpleton". However, he is not that simple, but natural and genuine, which makes him so adorable.
Oleg Anofriyev was born in Gelendzhik on July 20, 1930 .
In 1954 he graduated from the School Studio of the Moscow Art Theatre, where he studied under S. K. Blinnikov and G. A. Gerasimov.
From 1954 to 1973 he played in Moscow theaters, namely the Central Children's Theatre, Mayakovsky Theater (from 1960), Mossovet Theatre (from 1962), and Theater Studio of the Film Actor. He became internationally famous with his role of Vassily Terkin in the same-name play. It was followed with his success in filming. In the 1950s - 1960s he played over fifteen film roles.
Oleg Anofriyev's creativity is many-sided. He can be justly called the voice of an era, because lots of characters of cult and popular Soviet animated films and movies speak and sing with his voice. Moreover, he composes music, verses, songs, parodies and epigrams. He sings in almost all the movies and performances featuring him, and often for several characters.
Oleg Anofriyev is the author of more than 50 songs, romances and melodies to movies, animated films, stage productions and musical fairy tales, including The Shadow, Senior Huang, On June 31, The Twelfth Night, To Be in Love, Adventures of Toto, Magic Apple, etc. The cult animated musical film The Musicians of Bremen was composed by Oleg Anofriev, who voiced all the characters, but for Princess, and sang all their songs (writte by him). He sang and recorded over two hundred songs, including those to animations and films.
Along with the theater and cinema Oleg Anofriyev worked a lot on television and radio.
In 1992 he directed his first film, To Be in Love, and composed music for it.
Oleg Anofriyev had his book published: Soldier and Ballerina is a collection of his verses, lyrics, and memories about film actors, such as Faina Ranevskaya, Georgy Vitsin, Anatoly Papanov, and others.
Recently Oleg Anofriyev released two albums: one with four animated musical films, and another with 23 songs sung by him in various films. He lives and works in Moscow and often gives concerts.
Oleg Anofriyev is married and has one daughter and two granddaughters. He is fond of football and equestrian sport. The singer is mostly interested in literature on the history of Russia.
