Zurab Tsereteli to Present Yaroslavl with Three-Meter Bronze Bear
Yaroslavl

For the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl the well-known sculptor Zurab Tsereteli will present the city with a sculpture of a bear, which is the symbol of Yaroslavl.

The sculptor already promised this present to the city a few years back. The bear will be set up in the Yaroslavl 1000th Anniversary Park, which is started to be arranged now. The jubilee park will be located on the embankment of the Kotorosl River.
The three-meter bronze bear will be standing over a plinth made of natural stone. The bear is holding one paw pointing upward, while grasping a fish with the other one.

Celebrations of Yaroslavl’s jubilee are planned for September 10 to 12.
