Remains of a New Human Species Belong to A Little Girl

Recently discovered human remains, which are claimed to be a new human species, belong to a little girl, Russian biologists say.

Sensational discovery of a new human species was made after analysis of mitochondrial DNA on a bone, found in the Denisov cave, located in the Altai Region. German geneticists, who performed DNA analysis, however, say that additional analysis of nuclear DNA is required to make such a conclusion.

However, Russian scientists found some indirect evidence that this human species existed. The Denisov cave also contained stone bracelet and marble ring, which were made by means of stone boring, tool drilling and grinding. These technological operations were considered to appear much later, since they have never been found in early Paleolithic sites.
