Cooperation of Russian scientists from Moscow and Tomsk resulted in the first in the world compact X-ray unit for performing radiography on very small objects.
      
      Existing large units require several square meters due to a complicated system of electric pulse formation, and new development needs only one edge of your desk.
      
      Researchers form Tomsk developed a compact current generator on the basis of super-low-inductance condensers and fast gas commutators. Physicists from Moscow optimized X-pinch generator load for working as a point source of soft X-ray radiation.
      
      New development need some improvements in order to become a commercial product.
