Russian government extended the ban on human cloning. Moratorium on human cloning expired in July 2007, but now is introduced again.
New law bans cloning of whole human organisms and has nothing to do with animals and cell technologies. Russian authorizes have different opinions concerning human cloning: some think that genetics has suffered enough in this country, and some consider science to be not ready for human cloning.
The ban has no fixed term and will be in effect, until regulations for scientific technologies for cloning of living organisms appear.
