Russian Bard Victor Luferov Passes Away

The well-known Russian bard Victor Luferov died, aged 64, as a result of malignant affection of the lymphatic system.
      
      Victor Arkhipovich Luferov was born on 20 May 1945 in Moscow. He graduated from Biology Faculty of the Skryabin Veterinary Academy (1971) and Gnesin Music Teachers Training College, majoring in the guitar. In the College he specialized in jazz and for several years attended the jazz studio Moskvorech’e.
      
      From 1966 Luferov wrote songs mainly to his own lyrics and performed them accompanying himself on guitar and various instruments. He was one of the most authoritative and influential Russian songwriters.
