Nuclear Safety Taught in Russia

Students from Russia and Ukraine currently participate in UN initiative – learning how to protect population and environment from negative consequences of radiation and making nuclear power plants safer.
      
      The programme on physical nuclear safety takes place in the city of Obninsk, where a special centre hosts students. Funds for the programme come from IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), which cooperates with Obninsk since 2001.
      
      The lecture langauge is Russian, however, IAEA authorities are working on the English version of the course, which allows more international student to enter the programme. Leaning equipment comes from Canada, Israel, Italy, Japan, France, Germany, Russia, Great Britain, and USA.
