The exhibition, recently opened in the Archive of Russian Academy of Sciences, shows unique documents, revealing unknown pages of history of Soviet genetics.
The exhibits include the diary of Nikolay Koltsov and his letter to Joseph Stalin, personal files of Nikolay Vavilov, Doncho Kostov and German Meller and etc. Visitors will find over 300 unique items at the exhibition, which regards genetics through personalities of most famous and outstanding scientists.
Three geneticists, who form the basis of the exhibition, are the director of the Institute of Genetics Nikolay Vavilov, the founder of the Institute of Experimental Biology Nikolay Koltsov and the outstanding Bulgarian geneticist Doncho Kostov. Other eminent geneticists, about whom visitors can learn more at the exhibition, are Sergey Chetverikov, Nikolay Timofeev-Resovsky, Mikhail Zavadovsky and Ivan Shmalgausen.
