Unique Artificial Eye Lens Developed

Scientists from Siberia have performed successful tests of their new development – artificial eye lens or bifocal intraocular lens.

Mentioned development is unique because after an artificial lens is implanted, the patient obtains good near and distance eyesight, thus eliminating the need to wear spectacles.

The original artificial lens was mde using nanotechnologies. Bifocal lens allows compencating eyesight defects due to eye retina and the lens itself being non-sperical.

Clinical trials showed that no patients had rejected the implant or suffered from any complications.
