Over 50% of Russians curb entertainment expenses

Russia has become one of five countries, where citizens managed to loosen the purse strings for the past three months. In the course of the study 23 659 people from 24 countries were polled in the period from mid-September to late October. The results indicate an uprising optimistic trend, though many consumers are still very careful about their spendings.
      
      The category of clothes/shoes/ accessories is recognized to have most suffered from the economic turmoil – the international demand for these goods has halved for the past three months. Interestingly, the spendings on IT services remained almost the same.
      
      If compare the results of the study in terms of geography, it is seen that citizens of Latin America cut all expenses by an average of 47%, while in Asian-Pacific Region people decreased their spendings by only 27%.
      
      It is noted that Americans are very particular about money matters. The number of US citizens, who cut their expenses, excels the international index by 12% (46% against 34%). The USA goes third on the list of the most saving nations.
      
      AS for Russians, they prefer to save money on entertainment (52%), major purchases (48%)and travels (46%).
      
      The share of Russians trying to cut expenses on clothes and shoes reduced by 20% compared to the previous study conducted three months ago.
