A group of international experts-ecologists transporting the message about the problems of global warming on the Earth from Kyoto to Copenhagen has arrived to the Lake Baikal. They are going along the Trans-Siberian Railroad.
The journey is going on within a common project of the International Union of Railways, Russian Railways Program on Environmental Protection and the World Wildlife Fund.
The so-called "train Kioto – Copenhagen" departed from Vladivostok 3 days ago. It will stay one day by the Lake Baikal to let the experts to get acquainted with the deepest fresh water lake in the world and some other objects.
It is a reminder that United Nations Conference on Environment takes place in Copenhagen at the end of the year 2009. The countries taking part in it should work out a document instead of Kyoto Protokol which has been out of date.
