The Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg opens Vera Mukhina exhibition, with her sculptures, graphic works, and decorative and applied arts.
The exposition presents more than 200 graphic, painting and sculptural pieces by the famous artist. It is arranged in chronological order: from early works created in the 1910s to monuments to Mikhail Gorky, Lenin, and labour heroes, which were made in the late years of her life.
Vera Mukhina’s most famous work of art - the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman - is represented with several sketches and studies, as well as the monument’s model.
By the way, the monument Worker and Kolkhoz Woman is expected to be brought back to its original place near the All-Russian Exhibition Centre (Moscow) in 2010.
The exhibition runs till the end of January.
