Michelin & Cie, Europe's largest tire maker, is set to double production in Russia, reports Bloomberg. The company is reported to increase production capacity of passenger car tires up to 4 million items per year in the town of Davydovo, the Moscow Region.
Besides, Michelin is thinking of opening its own workshop to re-tread truck tires in the RF – this is going to be the first step to launching truck tires production for the Russian market.
Despite the 50% fall of Russian car sales, Michelin expects the car market to start recovering next year.
